2011 HERBERT COVER CONTEST

RULES AND CATEGORIES

TO BE DECIDED BY VOTE OF THOSE PRESENT:

  1. Advertising Cover with the most obsolete item being advertised.
  2. Most interesting Cover with a February 14 postmark (St. Valentine’s Day).
  3. Cover with the most interesting auxiliary postal marking.
  4. Cover with the most interesting semi-postal stamp.
  5. Cover with the ugliest U.S.A. issued stamp or stamps.

TO BE DECIDED BY A PANEL OF JUDGES:

  1. Cover with most different stamps denominated in more than one currency.
  2. Cover with the smallest stamp (sum of length plus width).
  3. Cover with most different postage due stamps.
  4. Earliest philatelic cover.
  5. Most recent April Fools Day (April 1) cover.
  • All items submitted must have been used (cancelled with a postmark or other device). Unless otherwise specified a cover can be an envelope, post card, or postal card, folded letter, postal stationery, or document that shows payment of postage and/or postal fees.
  • A reminder to individual category winners, your newsletter editor would like a photocopy or scan of your winning entry to be published in the next edition of the newsletter.
